heritage meets modernity at pablo picasso’s ex atelier

In the heart of Rome’s renowned Via Margutta, a group of architects has breathed new life into an historic atelier that once hosted Pablo Picasso. While preserving the atelier’s original essence, paying homage to the space’s storied past, the architects infused the space with a contemporary attitude to accommodate the desires of its new owner. Retaining its artistic heritage, the space now sits marked with an eclectic mix of iconic pieces of furniture nodding to design history including Bauhaus chairs by M. Breuer and Le Corbusier armchairs by Cassina, while paintings by contemporary artists adorn the walls.
